We are pleased to announce that IDC has received a EUROPEAN QUALITY AWARD (EQA) from the EMCC “European Mentoring and Coaching Council” based in London. IDC is the first Swiss training organisation to obtain this accreditation, this award being a recognition of the quality of the trainings provided by IDC.

What is EMCC?

EMCC is a British organisation that was founded 20 years ago in its present form. Its purpose is to develop and promote quality criteria and a code of ethics that meet European standards in the fields of mentoring, coaching, counselling and psychology. EMCC has affiliates in more than 60 countries across Europe and in the Asia-Pacific region.

Why add another quality label?

The EQA is important for us because it relates specifically to Europe. Together with the ICF, which is principally focused on America, and EduQua a Swiss quality label for continuing education, it reflects the multicultural aspect of our training. What’s also important is that meeting its strict requirements for accreditation inspired us to ask ourselves searching questions about the content of our programmes and the way they are delivered.

Which programmes are involved?

Basic training: 4 modules of professional coaching training (I-IIA-IIB-IIC),

The basic training and coaching certification programme,

“Executive Coaching Training”, a specialized training for corporate coaches.

The EQA accreditation applies equally to programmes given in French and in English, including those delivered at the Summer University.

What does it really mean for IDC students?

It is additional confirmation of the quality of the training they receive. It also underlines the unique nature of the coaching profession and the specific competences it requires. Starting in 2020, the EQA label will feature on the certificate and/or diploma issued at the completion of training.
