MODULE I
Coaching and leading in uncertain times

We are living in strange times, indeed. We are facing many profound challenges – as individuals, as organisations, as nations, and as a planet. “Business as usual” is no longer enough to deal with an uncertain and unknown future: we need leaders and coaches who are willing to embark on their own transformation in order to serve and inspire others in these complex and uncertain times. We need leaders and coaches who are willing to learn.

In this module, we will be working with the models of ontological coaching and transformational learning. We will explore how we use language, moods, and embodiment, to achieve impactful and sustainable results for ourselves as coaches and leaders, and for the people and organisations whom we serve.

Coaches and leaders will learn how to develop and deepen your capacity to engage more powerfully and effectively with others, and increase their impact in their personal and professional lives.

MODULE II
Exploring the neurosciences of leadership and coaching

David Forster

Coaching is a leadership skill and yet so much of what we learn about coaching and leadership is so often lost through our inability to live in the moment. Through neuroscience we can start to explore the inner dialogue that prevents us from being connected. Training can give us the tools and techniques to enable others to see there lives from a new position of observation. These new experiences often drive people to new behaviors and yet I often hear leaders and coaches asking themselves why these techniques and tools worked?

What was it that sometimes allowed these tools to “hit the mark”? Neuroscience can start to open the door on some of these questions. In this session we will specifically look at the neuroscience of the inner state and its effect on others, the inner voice, a potential blockage and also a potential resource, motivation memory and emotional tagging, insight and action, mindfulness and its utility in our leadership and in the world at large.

We will explore some of the basic principles of neuroscience and how they apply to coaching, leadership and life. Through experimentation in class we will journey together to “find it within ourselves” so that we may be able to apply these into our own coaching and leadership practices in the moment.

MODULE III
Generative leadership

Robert Dilts & Stephen Gilligan

One of the most important set of skills required in a changing world are the skills of leadership. Leadership can be defined as the capability to: “express a vision, influence people to achieve results, encourage team cooperation, and be an example”. Generative change means creating something beyond what has ever existed, whether in personal or professional life.  It is a contextual shift that allows new levels of mastery. Thus, Generative Leadership involves achieving outcomes that are completely new. The core focus in Generative Leadership is creativity: How do you create a  successful and meaningful project, venture or life? Generative Leadership assumes that reality is constructed, and that this creative process can be mindfully engaged for positive outcomes.

To do this, a person’s state of consciousness is the difference that makes the difference: the outcomes a person produces are only as good as their state. The practical process of how to do this is the focus of this course. The program will combine tools of Robert Dilts’ Success Factor Modeling and Stephen Gilligan’s Generative Self to help people reach their deepest potential. This integration of Gilligan and Dilts’ lifetime work will help you to produce powerful and positive results.

MODULE IV
Appreciative coaching

Ann Clancy

This highly interactive workshop is designed for coaches, leaders, human resource professionals to experience the fullness of Appreciative Coaching (AC) – an alternative, positive methodology for change that can unleash life-enhancing energy. Appreciative Coaching, rooted in the highly successful Appreciative Inquiry change process for organizations, is a growth-based approach that incoporates the full mystery of an individual – strengths, hopes, limitations, disappointments and dreams. This training focuses on the Art and Science of Appreciative Coaching, weaving theory with practical hands-on knowledge that presents a comprehensive approach to coaching from philosophy to methodology to concrete application.

They incorporate  new discoveries on the coach’s role in igniting substantial change through the significant interplay of beliefs, memory and knowing. We will  experience  the interweaving of the principles and stages of AC, apply  the science, language and inquiry of AC in moving from a deficit to a growth approach, practice through interactive conversations and application of tools and strategies.

MODULE V
Presence as an essential coaching and leadership meta-competency 

Doug Silsbee

Presence is essential, not only for coaches, but as a developmental meta-competency that supports everything else clients are working towards. Presence is foundational for our capacity to recognize, negotiate with, and ultimately have choice in our habits and our inner state. In this module, you will work with presence both as a competency for coaches and as an outcome for clients. We will access presence through practices of mind, body, and heart, and work with presence as a coaching resource that underpins all real choice and sustainable behavior change. Working through your own signature coaching presence, you will learn to evoke, in your clients, this essential key to resilience, leadership effectiveness and accelerated development.

We will practice how to cultivate and hold a relational field of presence with clients; work intentionally with habit and resilient state; offer grounded, real-time assessments; integrate somatic and question-based coaching processes ; design integrative fieldwork, somatic practices and self-observations with client. Doug will co-teach this experiential retreat with Beatrice W. Hansen, certified Presence-Based Coach and Somatic Coach.
